About the Referee Association
We've changed our name! We're now Water Polo Referee Association of Washington (WPRA-WA). Though it'll take a little more time to change the name on Reftown, we wanted to share the exciting news.
The WPRA-WA provides information and training for Washington State Water Polo Officials at all levels of experience. The association assigns referees to officiate at high school tournaments, league games, and championships. Occasionally, the association assigns referees to USA Water Polo events, typically league-related matches.
Neither WPRA-WA nor any of its officers employ officials in any capacity. Referees are independent contractors and accept assignments based on their availability. In some circumstances, other individuals or groups may serve to assign.
Coaches, in an email dated March 5, League Commissioner Swaim provided the following information:
I just want to inform you all that School Districts make the call on the direction for school closures and sports teams. If your school district has closed school and issued no school athletic participation, you will need to find a date for make-up contests.
If your school district restricts athletic contests or travel, notify Commissioner Swaim as soon as possible.
